the practice of honest humanity
robyn’s interest in writing developed in three main stages: first, as a young child, when they hand-wrote a memoir based on the process of building their childhood home; second, as a college student, when they added a second major in philosophy and fell in love with the intentionality of words; and third, as a young adult, when they met a professional essayist for the first time. these three moments, combined with a lifelong investment in word-based assumptions as a primary architect of conflict, has led them to a career of creative writing, curriculum design, and facilitation.
robyn’s concentrations as a professional exist in the collaborative space between technical writing, program administration, and creative storytelling. they write curricula and build community-forward programming grounded in experiential learning and tailored by active listening; guided by the firm belief that stories are only as effective as they are accessible. their primary focus is around conflict, de-escalation, holistic safety, mutual protection, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. the content they design is grounded in the importance of honesty and empathy intertwined, with the challenge of actively decolonizing the production, consumption, and judgement of information.
