Frontline Queers is an emerging network of community safety volunteers, based in and around New York City. We use Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to share resources in regards to direct actions and community safety in New York City and surrounding areas. The pages are intended to act as a catch-all informational source for frontline responders and mutual aid groups to be able to offer their support wherever they can, in a non-hierarchical way.

Frontline Queers was started in response to the observation that different groups of responders seem to exist entirely independent of one another. Organizations can be insular, and demonstrators can get caught up in loyalty to a brand. FQ was started on the belief that no singular organization is doing it “right.” Saviourism and hoarding resources are tools of white supremacy, and they have no place in the revolution. We don’t need to reinvent the wheel. We need to work together, share resources, and keep each other accountable, no matter how uncomfortable the process may be.

So, here’s how it works! If you are an organizer and need to connect to frontline responders, mutual aid organizations, or other elements of community safety, DM or email (frontlinequeers@gmail.com) a flyer and brief description of your needs. It will be posted on our socials to direct potential responders to you/your organization. FQ has connections to frontline responders, mutual aid organizations, street medics, sound amplification, and ASL interpreters. We can reach out on your behalf, or get you connected directly. If you are a frontline responder or work with mutual aid organizations, check our social media to stay on top of community safety asks.

Frontline Queers is not directly responsible for coordinating responders or mutual aid groups unless specifically stated. One of the purposes of the page is to share information and networks, so that communities can effectively show up for each other and not be limited by their internet reach. However - you can request for FQ to coordinate community safety, if that aligns with your needs!

It is up to the organizations, volunteers groups, individuals, etc., to articulate their particular values and what they are planning to accomplish with any specific action. That being said, Frontline Queers will not promote any action or organizer that is homophobic, transphobic, excludes sex workers, ableist, or is otherwise exclusionary of the most vulnerable. Frontline Queers will center the voices of the marginalized, but it is also up to the individuals and organizers behind the actions to make their morals unmistakable and transparent.

The revolution shall be collaborative.

We keep us safe!

let’s collaborate!
